Getting Involved in Capitol Life

There are a number of ways kids can get involved in the cultural and political life of Capitol Square. Depending on your age and interests, the possibilities include:

• becoming a legislative page (middle to high school)
  • in the House of Delegates
  • in the Senate
    
    
• becoming an intern
  • House Internship (college)
    
    
• participating in Girls State or Boys State (high school)
  
  
• being part of the Model General Assembly (high school)
  
  
• taking the Capitol Semester course (college)
  
  
• becoming a Governor's Fellow (college / post-college)

The competition for many of these spots can be pretty fierce, so it's wise to plan ahead a bit if you know you want to participate in any of the above opportunities.
